Within ACL 3.2, back and forth movements create the concrete concept of a line after it is visible. The actions rub over the same space, which can be seen as a wide line.

Different objects on different surfaces can create a line:

  • The objects can include sticks, crayons, pencils, pens, and brushes.
  • The surfaces can include dirt, sand, paper, and walls.

Familiar objects that are bilateral and can be moved back and forth include sanders and rolling pins.

By moving an object that makes a mark, such as a pencil, back and forth, a line is drawn. The line is a concrete representation of the effects of their actions. Drawing a line is an elementary form of organizing and seeing the effects of the actions of the hand. Writing and drawing are based on understanding this cause and effect relationship, which can be done with a stick in the dirt or petroglyphs on rocks.

From ACL 3.0 through 3.4, the person is guided by the information that captures attention from linear, movement and sensory cues.

Back and forth actions cause a striking, perceivable effect on the surfaces of external objects. A noticeable amount of repetition often accompanies the back and forth motions. The repetitive, habitual actions are probably stored in the person's procedural memories.

Sustained attention time is only partially determined by personal choice. Physical and mental strength probably control a larger percentage than most people would like to believe.

The time it takes a person to respond to a command within ACL 3 is about 5 seconds. Examples of commands include: "Hold this" and "Color this."

Within ACL 3.2, the cause and effect relationship provides an opportunity to measure an experiential response to an internal command to cause an effect on a surface. Start the stop watch after you give the direction. Press stop after the first back and forth motion.

Heart rate is another clinical measure of biological time.

Within ACL 3.2, equivalent cues include objects that can be held and used to produce an effect on another surface. The surface can be the person's skin, their teeth and hair, a piece of paper, a counter top or a table top. The cues that capture attention are both the object in their hand and the surface to have an effect upon.

The effect of the motion must be perceivable. When lotion is applied to the skin, an opaque color that can be seen is apt to capture attention better than transparent oils that soak into the skin rapidly.

Within ACL 3.2, the person pays attention to the effects caused by the back and forth motion. The held object causes an effect on another object, e.g. a crayon on paper. Back and forth is usually in approximately the same location, in a horizontal plane.

The running stitch is still included in the ACLS-6, but the motion goes up and down in a vertical plane and the tip gets hidden underneath the backing. The truth is that the running stitch is not a very good evaluation of linear information. Coloring is better, and the back and forth motion is easy to observe. They color on the page ignoring the line.

The addition within ACL 3.2 is an intentional back and forth motion, using an object held in their hand and causing an effect on another object. Within ACL 3.0, an object is held, but there is no conscious cause and effect connection with another surface. As a concrete example, the person holds a crayon within ACL 3.0 and applies it to paper within ACL 3.2. The motion on paper looks like a scribble until you look closer and see that the back and forth motion is the beginning of tracing over a line.

Many ball tossing games maybe made up. You can get the equipment commercially or just use a washing basket.
