Being able to overlap an object over another is the scoring criterion.

Being able to hold an image within the person's working memory results in the ability to compare the images and hide one tip of the rhombus under the corner pieces. The person will stop referring to the sample when their mental energy is all used up. This is when errors occur.

Reading with verbal directions does not supply enough information and must be supplemented with a demonstration.

The person understands that they are there to make something but will lack the ability to stick to the task without verbal prompting and demonstrations per action as they do not understand a series of steps.

The person required a demonstration of cutting a triangle and peeling the backing and then ironing on a piece, demonstrating one step at a time. They should be able manage the task with this level of support.

Forming an image of the sample to compare to their pictures seems to take more mental effort that most people cannot sustain long enough to complete this colouring. Diminishing mental energy seems to explain shorter interval times between looking at the sample, not looking at the sample anymore, or the onset of making mistakes.

The postural differences between ACL 4.4 and 4.6 occurs as the improvement in mental energy results in the person sitting upright, picking up their head and scanning the environment. This results in a behaviour which is easy to identify.
