A demonstration of a cause and effect connection starts the thought process. The person imitates the demonstration and adds the concept of being done.
Their initial movements are usually self-organized by placing the objects in a row, starting at the top left-hand corner, but not continuing down the right side as is done within ACL 3.6. Within ACL 3.8, when they reach the end of the row, they usually start a new row on the left-hand side.
Their self-evaluation of what they are doing is probably based on their definition of being done, i.e. using all of the objects or covering all of the space. They seldom comment on their comparisons with doing similar activities and they continue until they are done. When finished, they may not be interested in taking their project with them because their attention was focused on the process of getting done and not on producing something. As far as they are concerned, they achieved their goal when the surface was covered or the objects were used.
