Hair & Nail Care
Prevent ingrown or broken nails by cutting and smoothing nails.
Prevent hair matting by a short haircut or by brushing and braiding hair.
Within ACL 3.4, assist with washing hair in the shower and make arrangements for haircuts. Remind to brush hair at routine times of the day.
Oral Hygiene
Within ACL 3.0, prevent dental decay by brushing teeth for the person after allowing them to brush for a brief duration with constant directives.
Within ACL 3.2, place toothbrush with toothpaste in visible close proximity. Cue to start and stop actions in one place.
Within ACL 3.4, set up tools and objects at appropriate times of the day. Sequence through actions. Stop perseverative actions. Check results. Do denture care.
Grooming
Within ACL 3.0, offer brush/comb at eye level. Initiate back and forth action in one place for brief duration. Adapt handles as needed.
Within ACL 3.2, place brush/comb in visible close proximity; adapt handle if needed. Direct to start and stop actions in one place without evaluating effects.
Within ACL 3.4, same assistance as with oral hygiene. Moderate assistance for arranging hair, applying make-up. To ensure safety, shave their face.
