  • Start the single cordovan stitch here.
  • Insert the tip from the back to front and leave a 1.5 inch (4 cm) tail.
  • Tie an overhand knot so that the tail points away from subsequent stitches.
  • Begin a single cordovan stitch by pushing the tip through the next hole from front to back.
  • The push the tip through the formed loop from front to back.
  • Finish the stitch by tightening the lace through the hole then through the loop.
  • Make three single cordovan stitches.
