Causing Effects

The person may be able to coordinate the movements for squatting, skipping, and hopping.

Refined eye-hand coordination can cause effects using a single finger to fit into a small space or a corner.

Materials and tools are selected and adjusted as they proceed to fit the desired cause and effect connection, as long as the effect is perceivable in the primary effects on surface appearances.

Personal choice is the standard for ACL 5.0 and also the standard for judging the quality of the effects on surface appearances. Suggested alternatives are met by the same fate. Notable exceptions are changes in surface appearances that decrease the value of someone else's property and filth that poses a health hazard. The consequences are determined by other people and communities.

Talking Effects

Preventing social conflicts is both easier and harder than ACL 5.0. Attention to surface appearances offers a wider range of activities that the person can do, but it also provides more opportunities to enter into a conflict. Their language comprehension is even more deceptive because the surface qualities may be included. With an ACL 6 history and an abstract vocabulary, the person's current capacity to understand is often overestimated.

Within ACL 5.2, their concentration can shift to talking for a minute or two, and then resume their focus of attention on surface appearances. Within ACL 5.0 and below, the ability to momentarily shift the focus of attention is rare. The ability that makes shifting the focus of attention possible may be the longer retention of images in working memory. Longer retention of images could also contribute to their ability to sustain their attention to activity performance longer.

A series of unsatisfactory effects leads to frustration and troublesome behavior. Try to offer assistance before the situation becomes unpleasant. Frustration often means that the activity is too hard for the person, now.

Measurements

One to one correspondence between a ruler and another material object is usually understood, making measurements useful.
