ACL 4.0: Knows When They Are Done

By Anonymous (not verified), 5 March, 2025

The person uses well established procedural memory to sequence themselves through the steps of doing an activity and to be oriented to the time of day. They are often looking for something to do and are easy to engage in an activity that they can still do. A daily schedule of activities is appreciated and nothing to do between meals is often dreaded.

A concrete activity is an idea, an image, or a sample of a self-directed sequence of actions that the person intends to do according to that person's standard of performance. Self-care and domestic activities commonly have cultural standards that have group consensus for the quality of performance that is generally expected. Within ACL 4.0, most people know what those standards are for their routine activities. In other cases, the image of the concrete activity in the person's mind determines what they are expected to do and how they evaluate their performance. When the image is vague within ACL 4.0, the sample concretizes the expectations and compensates for their difficulties.

The difference between doing an action or an activity is that the person is thinking about what they are doing while they are doing it. An action is a piece of behavior with a beginning and an end. An activity has a middle that is guided by the thought of what the person intends to accomplish. People functioning within ACL 4 like to see a concrete example of a concrete activity that they can do because it reminds them of their goal. The goal is achieved in the end.
