Within ACL 5 High, the person tries different techniques in order to achieve a better result. When long-term memory is intact secondary consequences makes sense to the person. Abstract concepts which may have secondary consequences may however be neglected. Many appliances due to regulations have warning signs cautioning the dangers due to secondary consequences or unseen forces such as electricity to cover their liabilities.

Instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) are done often, but not every day. Within ACL 5 High, the person is able to quickly learn new techniques and adjust to changes.

The person can remember and learn as long as the supplies display perceivable changes in the effects of their actions.

Prior sensorimotor knowledge can be applied to present supplies, but prior abstract knowledge is not applied.

Written instructions no longer must be short and explicit about the use of present supplies to be followed.

Precautions are only followed when:

  • The explanation is understood in the presence of material objects.
  • The effect is limited to sensorimotor information.
  • The effect is consistent every time.
