Within ACL 5 High, the use of abstract information is illogical by adults with a cognitive disability who have a history of abstract information for decades before the onset of a cognitive disability.
Learning and remembering is limited to tangible information within ACL 5 High. The person is apt to do one or more of the following:
- Not be aware of mistakes made with abstract information,
- Does not try to correct them,
- Makes excuses for them,
- Ignoring them in the present and future,
- Argues with and blames other people for being unjust,
- Does not update their sense of who they are or what just happened,
- Believes that other people have changed, which may or may not be true.
