Within ACL 5 High, the use of abstract information is illogical by adults with a cognitive disability who have a history of abstract information for decades before the onset of a cognitive disability.

Learning and remembering is limited to tangible information within ACL 5 High. The person is apt to do one or more of the following:

  • Not be aware of mistakes made with abstract information,
  • Does not try to correct them,
  • Makes excuses for them,
  • Ignoring them in the present and future,
  • Argues with and blames other people for being unjust,
  • Does not update their sense of who they are or what just happened,
  • Believes that other people have changed, which may or may not be true.
