Memory Aides

By Anonymous (not verified), 5 March, 2025

Within ACL 4 High, the person is rarely aware of having a memory problem. Without awareness, the idea of needing memory aids seems silly to them unless they have been taught to use them. Using aids for people with an obsolete identity may not make sense to them.

Some examples of aids are:

  • The use of checklists to identify or avoid potential problems, prioritize activities, and compensate for decreased memory with supervision and verbal cues, in order to rigidly follow a daily routine.
  • The use of daily memory aids (e.g. memory book, pocket calendar) rigidly, with reminders, to remember valued information and to schedule infrequent events.
  • Smart phones with common reminders programed into these devices may be used.
