Walking in the Neighborhood

By Anonymous (not verified), 5 March, 2025

Within ACL 4.0, the person can usually make their way around the neighborhood when they are able to use familiar landmarks to guide themselves.

While ambulatory, someone will need to cue them to alter pace and redirect their attention when they become distracted. Most people must be accompanied to prevent getting lost outside of the immediate neighborhood. If they get lost, they rarely know how to retrace their steps to reorient themselves.

Within ACL 4 Low, prevent accidents by escorting while walking in traffic and prevent them from stepping in front of cars.

If they scan the environment, they may only look one way before crossing the street . However, if a person has a procedural memory for crossing the street (i.e. learned at a young age to "look at the light," "look both ways," etc.) in ACL 4.2 and 4.4, they may look but still step out in front of traffic.
